The purpose of this blog is to connect with other families and friends of children with moderate to severe autism. I am a Harvard-MIT trained physician, with dual board certification in internal medicine and geriatrics. I am also a mother of seven, the second to youngest having autism. When my son Peter was diagnosed, I gave away my medical practice of over ten years, and plunged into the world of special education. The Lord has been abundantly generous in His blessings to us. Peter has grown into a joyful ten year old who loves to learn. He still has many challenges, but has come a long way. I want to share what I’ve learned, and learn from the experience of all of you, who also love a child with autism. We’re stronger together.

Hi, Joyce,
It is beyond my wildest imagination that I would write to you here. I will tell you more how I found this blog after receiving confirmation from you that you are the girl I met 33 years ago.
My younger son, Andy, 12 years old, is also autistic. I can completely relate what you wrote in your blog. Peter is lucky to have mother like you.
Since you have my e-mail address, please write to me so that we can discuss autism more.
Sincerely,
Lawrence
